As the establishment welcomes guests from all walks of life, it's never easy to stick to a single formula to get a high satisfaction rating. There are certain rules, however, that must be kept in mind. And these rules are in response to some of the most common problems faced by hoteliers:

The dirty establishment

Bed bugs, smelly carpets and dirty bathrooms are valid reasons that could pull a hotel's rating down. Therefore, cleanliness should be delivered a hundred percent. The service, however, should go beyond simple sweeping and scrubbing. Professional cleaners must take over. For instance, dirty carpets shouldn't just be remedied by a vacuum cleaner; a commercial carpet cleaning company from Salt Lake must be hired for the duty. Removal of old mattresses and furniture that attract unwanted pests is also necessary.

Unhelpful staff

There is no excuse for one’s unwillingness to help out a guest. When running a hotel, every staff member from the concierge to the cook must always be ready to assist a customer 24 hours a day. To make this possible, each staff member must undergo a customer service refresher and training to be updated with the latest trends in the hospitality industry. Regular assessments must also be conducted to resolve issues promptly.

Expensive breakfast

Lastly, breakfast that doesn't come for free can already cause a few frowns, but an expensive breakfast might just trample the hotel's reputation. Good research has to be put in to keep the costs at bay so that everything that a guest pays for is reasonable enough for a return stay. And if it can't be helped, at least have the decency to put the price on the ads or website for customer awareness. Remember, transparency can go a long way.
