Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
If you’re in New York, you wouldn’t want to miss this one of the largest parades in the world. Held every November, it is an event where you can see marching bands, cheerleaders, balloons, floats and a so much more. If you have a kid, this is the best time to bond.
Just make sure you are at the right viewing place. The west side street of Central Park is where most of the early comers camp out to get a good spot. If you’re planning to arrive later, you can position at the 6th Avenue where the parade is expected to pass by at around 9:30 a.m.
Tracing the Thanksgiving Roots
The festival dates fall on November 16 to 17. This is a place where you’ll find a bounty of authentic Americana. Get your cameras ready as the streets will also be filled with a parade of some historical figures coming to life during the festival.
Apart from the Waterfront and the Plymouth Harbor, you can check out other places like Historic Village and the Craft Beer and Wine Garden.
This 10-day festival will surely give you a mix of fun, food, and entertainment. It starts on November 2 where there’s free admission until 7 p.m. Food is almost everywhere and if ever you ran out of cash, there are also ATMs available. If you’re planning to bring your car, you should probably head on early as the parking space is limited. However, there are shuttle services available to pick you up in your hotel, motel, or resort accommodation.
